As a belated birthday celebration, we hiked to the summit of Arthur's Seat (don't be too impressed - it's only 610 feet tall). Bonus: we enjoyed some secret scotch hidden in our water bottle (the scotch was a birthday gift from my sister Caitlin).

We went to Newcastle, York, Edinburgh, and Tynemouth. Some days the weather was beautiful and sunny. Other days, wind and hail. UK weather always keeps you on your toes, but they packed wisely and toughed it out.
